Minors LeagueUpdatedTuesday March 24, 2015 byRick Licursi.
For additional information about Minors League Rules, see the “Minors” section in the OPLL By-Laws which can be found the “Downloadable Forms & Files” section of the website. It is important to remember that the Minors league is to be used to help prepare our players for real baseball. However, in this league there are no lead-offs in and a batter cannot fake bunt. Stealing is allowed in this league however a runner can only advance from 3rd to home on a hit ball, a hit batter or a walk. A pitcher can only pitch 3 innings or 75 pitches, whichever comes first. All players in this league should play all positions, and no player will sit for 2 consecutive innings. To help with that, we have included a lineup card excel spreadsheet that is a great aid in helping Coaches create their lineups. Also, below we have included a sample “Parent Information Letter” that should be distributed at your first practice so all parents have the information they need to have an enjoyable season. Contact Ross Bowman, the Minors Commissioner, if you have any further questions. Have a great season!
